The roll out of 5G when it comes to the coast fully will be transmitted from the existing towers using the existing 4G frequencies.
From my earlier article “With 4G and 4G plus, the main frequencies are around 700Megahertz and this has a great range or distance of travel and can get through some barriers such as trees and buildings, better than the higher frequencies. And with some clever technology it makes up with volume and reliability what it lacks in speed.”
This is good news for the Coast as when the 5G service gets here we will get the benefits of the faster speeds but without the potential risks being discussed around the world. It should mean minimal new towers we hope!
Cheers
